It’s NZ Music Month and for this week's Inside Work we’re focusing on positions related to the music industry from around the country.

It’s NZ Music Month and for this week's Inside Work we’re focusing on positions related to the music industry from around the country. Take a look at these jobs and opportunities on offer through The Big Idea:

  • Bass Guitarist – Hand me downs are looking for an influential electric bass player to complete their line up for gigs and recordings. Improvisation is a must and the chosen bassist will be expected to help arrange songs. They must also have a willigness to attend band practises in Raglan.
  • Musical Director – Whangarei Harmony Choir is an all women barbershop or acapella singing group who love to sing four part harmony and they are seeking a Musical Director.
  • Director Of Music – Taranaki Cathedral, New Zealand, working with Community Groups of the region has assembled an enticing package for this post of Director of Music; not only to be Cathedral Director of Music and organist; but also Music Director of Ars Nova Choir; leader of Taranaki Youth Orchestra.
  • Orchestra Management Coordinator – New Zealand Symphony Orchestra is seeking someone to co-ordinate the small group activity as part of the NZSO’s education programme. The ability to multi-task with an acute eye for detail is essential, as is the ability to be a self learner and work autonomously within a team environment. An appreciation and understanding of symphonic music is highly desirable.
  • Improv Musicians – Bingodisiac orchestra are looking for improv musicians to perform the sound track to the film Alchemical Pilgrimage III by Emit Snake-Beings. They are seeking musicians / non-musicians / sound makers / noise musicians / classical / jazz /etc.
