Whether you’re interning or tutoring, you’re here to teach and be taught. For this week's Inside Work we’re focusing on 'life-long learning' related positions in the creative sector. Take a look at these jobs and opportunities on offer through The Big Idea:

Internships:

  • Arts Administration – The Artists Alliance Internship Programme 2011 is now calling for applications from recent graduates for a fixed term, paid internship with Artists Alliance. The aim of the programme is to provide a valuable opportunity for graduates to obtain significant work experience in the art industry.
  • Documentary Director – The Depot is seeking applications from people with suitable experience, skill, and an interest in directing a video documentary featuring a small, iconic, art related Auckland business, its unique work and the people employed there. This position is for an ‘emerging documentary maker’, working in an internship alongside a producer, himself an established film maker and teacher, to create a documentary intended for film festival, television, and other applications.
  • NZ Cultural Genealogy Mapping – The Depot is seeking applications from people with a good understanding of and keen interest in learning more about New Zealand’s arts and cultural history, to research and assist in the curation of a ‘New Zealand Cultural Genealogy Map’ as part of a creative internship programme.

Tutors:

  • Digital Media Tutor – Southern Institute of Technology, situated in Invercargill, New Zealand is a well recognised provider of tertiary vocational training, offering a comprehensive range of programmes from certificate to degree level that lead to formal qualifications. They are currently looking to appoint a suitably qualified and experienced person to the above full-time permanent position.
  • Professional Teaching Fellow – University of Auckland, The Department of Art History is seeking expressions of interest for two fixed term Professional Teaching Fellow positions; a stage 2/3 course: Art and Photography to be taught in Semester 2, 2011, and a course in Summer School, 2012.
  • Final Cut Studio Tutor/Mentor – The New Zealand Film Academy is looking for a Final Cut Studio tutor/mentor. The position is on a very flexible hourly rate basis as needed. The ideal person will be active in the film industry and have a proven industry record
