Matthew Carter won the Glaister Ennor Graduate Art Awards 2009, held at OREX Art, Oedipus Rex Gallery in Khartoum Place, Central Auckland last week. He is a graduate from AUT university and is now studying further at AUT. 

Matthew Carter won the Glaister Ennor Graduate Art Awards 2009, held at OREX Art, Oedipus Rex Gallery in Khartoum Place, Central Auckland last week. He is a graduate from AUT university and is now studying further at AUT. 

The Judges were John Daly-Peoples and Rex Armstrong who selected Matthew's painting 'Walking Space' as the Glaister Ennor Award winner which is a prize of $3000 and the opportunity to exhibit at OREX art gallery.

The second prize of $3000 for the Barfoot and Thompson award went to Karen Crisp from Elam for her photograph, 'Lake Tikitapu' and the Glaister Ennor staff choice award went to Bibi Ashger, also from Elam for her painting 'The Leopard'.

The works can be viewed at the OREX art website and the overall winner, Matthew Carter will be holding a solo exhibition next year at the gallery.
