The venue is the same as previous years - Ruawharo Marae at Opoutama, Mahia. The exhibition will be a one day only event, opening at 9.30a.m. and closing at 4.00p.m.Several of the exhibiting artists have participated in other shows this year - Ngaromoana Raureti-Tomoana has had a standing exhibition at Ruawharo Marae since mid July; Mere Whaanga, Miriama Reid, Desna Whaanga-Schollum and Clem Whaanga-Schollum opened their whanau exhibition at Tairawhiti Museum in August, and Desna has since exhibited in Auckland. Mahea Tomoana has also sold work to an Auckland gallery, Pita Walker-Robinson and Nigel How have been very busy throughout the year with orders for their weaving.

The Tidal Arts committee, organisers of the exhibition, are anticipating a good range of the art that has made the Gifted Sands exhibition so well known. As well, we look forward to seeing those people who have supported the exhibition over the years, and to meeting newcomers to this showcase of the vibrant arts community of the Wairoa and Mahia district. Nau mai, haere mai.
