In a future where the line between real and virtual blur and meld, Jeanie lives in between the two worlds. The future is about to be programmed and Jeanie is the programmer.

In an original script in the works since July 2003, Freeload is a futuristic thriller from Independent Theatre Artistic Director Grae Burton.

It began as a brainstorm and developed with the support of Creative New Zealand, Playmarket and many other people.

Called the most technical production in 2056 A.D., this show promises to push the boundaries on reality and virtuality over three acts.

Written in a non-linear form, the progress of the play swiftly moves between the real and virtual locations fluidly intertwining them, like viewing multiple open files on a computer, switching between the screens.

Freeload stars Laura Irish, Eleanor Strathern, Grae Burton and Doug Brooks. 

Freeload runs for two weekends in June 2009 in Nelson - June 18, 19, 20, 25, 26, and 27th at 8 pm. With a cast of four, this promises to showcase local talent.
