On Sunday 22 February the Auckland Domain comes alive with magic, music and mischief. Following on from The Teddy Bears Picnic at 4pm at the Band Rotunda is 'Flying Tales': an ecological story told in flying dance, theatre and music.

Characters range from a meditative deep sea fish, to a brave young hawk, to the beautiful Mother Earth herself.  

Director Shanti Sherson and Choreographer Linda Parker have worked together to create a story that celebrates the ecological diversity of Planet Earth and reminds us we too are part of the global ecosystem and need to love and respect the earth.

Performers include: Natasha Alpe, Talia Rout, Alisha McLennan, Olivia Bjorklund, Sophia Rapana, Linda Parker, Michael King, Daniel Gourley, Lusi Faiva, Megan Warwick, Shanti Sherson,Tosh Ahkit. Arborists - Drew Bristow, Aaron Clifton.Costumes - Tarja Pabbruwe. Live music - Michelle Waring.

Auckland City has supported the work with a contribution from its Creative Communities fund.
