"I think that photography is very much a place of mourning for the things that are valuable in life.The whole idea of the body and the desirous nature of the body, the idea of the photograph itself, and its two-dimensionality as an analogue for the human-the skin on the human body and the idea of what's inside and what's outside, The idea of what is lost and what is regained in the photograph, what has been replaced or substituted.

- if you look more closely at my practice, you will see that I'm talking about the same kind of things all the time; the same motifs are all there, just in many different guises and there are many different kinds of expressions of those same considerations."
