Dogs take centre stage at KINA Gallery this Friday 6 November for the opening of FETCH!, an exhibition all about the canis familaris – mans (and artists) best friend.

Featuring paintings and sculptural work by a pack of renowned local and national artists, FETCH! pays homage to our favourite companion - the dog. Appearing as a common visual motif throughout the history of art, this repeated emergence is an indication of the important role dogs have played as artists ally.

Rebecca Mooney, KINA’s Gallery Director, believes that “this is the time of year when people need an up-lifting bite of creative storytelling” - and this show does just that. She says that this exhibition is “all about celebrating the dog’s unique relationship to humans”.

Join us at our exhibition to celebrate the most doting, panting, slobbering, tail-wagging, bone-chewing, playful, nuzzling, hole-digging, affectionate, comforting, cat-chasing, lamp-post-sniffing, loyal, loving … friends.

FETCH! is on show in the KINA gallery from Friday 6^th November until 2^nd December 2009.
