Facebook now allows you to have a URL that includes your own name - making it easier for you to locate or promote on the web. No more long strings of meaningless characters - now we think that's a good idea.

And we have offered something similar to our members when The Big Idea relaunched in March 2009.

Personalised user names are now available. Names are dished out on a first-come, first-served basis.

Facebook will charge no fee for personalised user names - even for companies - but retains the right to challenge any name that may infringe a trademark.
