New Zealand actor Emily Barclay secured a nomination in the Australian Film Institute Awards for best lead actress for her portrayal of a rebellious teenager Katrina in Suburban Mayhem. Empire Magazine describes Barclay's performance as "a sensationally out there performance both alluring and repelling". Of her nomination: "I can't believe it," Barclay said in Sydney today. "It is really overwhelming."
