The third Dunedin Fringe Festival is over, leaving lasting impressions in the minds of Dunedin residents and visiting participants. Many events captured the public imagination ­ the Night Vision drive in short film festival, the hugely popular Ghost Train, the outrageous slime performance Glutmax! at the opening ceremony, the many street performances - these and many other fabulous Fringe events brought Dunedin to life in ways that no other festival does.

In days to come we will be talking to artists, venue operators and other key supporters about how we can make the next Dunedin Fringe Festival even better for all concerned.

Awards were given to a number of artists at the End of Fringe Party on Saturday 2 October. Mostly with a humorous bent, these acknowledged the spectacular successes, and the bizarre, crazy things that happened during the 10 days of Fringe madness. Volunteer Awards were also given to those who went beyond the call of duty, giving many hours of their time, in some cases
weeks or months of indispensable work.

      (Naked Slime Performance)
-Audience Development - A Deaf in the Family
      (With Sign Language Interpreter)
-Most Ostentatious Costume - The Apologisers
-Prolific Performer - Sandra Muller
-Fringe Imposter - Being Beethoven

Volunteer Awards went to Alexandra King for managing the Allsorts arts trail, Lisa Hoskin for coordinating the Fishbowl Theatre, Craig Storey for
programming the Night Vision films, Peter Stapleton for programming artists into venues, and Tristan Currie and Del McLeod for their valuable assistance
on the Fringe production crew.
