Image: A look into the possibilities of a 'Material Box'. A contemporary solo piece of street performance delivered in a mobile metal box manufactured in Japan. The Dunedin Fringe Festival is the largest festival of its kind in the South Island. This is possible because of the size and strength of the Dunedin arts community and because of the excellent support from our sponsors, advertisers and funders.
The Fringe is proud to present many new works by local and touring artists within this year's festival. With funding from Creative New Zealand, the Fringe was able to award New Work grants to Dunedin artists, or groups of artists, to create new work for this year's festival. This is a major investment in the local arts community. Many touring artists were also awarded travel grants to help them make the 2004 Dunedin Fringe. The end result is a quality programme bursting with diversity.
Congratulations to the artists for bringing their vision to life. It is our honour to umbrella within the 2004 Dunedin Fringe their vision, passion and creativity. Don't miss this rare opportunity to experience life on the edge. Go Fringe!
