Awkward Productions are busy preparing their latest work Adagio for Downstage's soon to be released Spring Season 08.

"All are welcome to come and watch us rehearse" says Awkward's creative director, Deborah Pope."I'll be putting performers Mason West, Rowan Heydon-White, Angela Green, Jenny McArthur and Vicki Jones through their paces and developing ideas for the eventual performance."

Downstage Director, Hilary Beaton, says open rehearsals offer audiences insight into the creative process: " At Downstage we are challenging the notion that one way of theatre-making is better than another or that particular forms and styles of performance or cultural story-making are more enlightening or likely to endure. What we value is the work undertaken, the energy it is generating and the quality of environment in which it is being actualised."

Adagio takes circus out of the tent turning live performance on its head! This is seriously sophisticated circus.

Bring your lunch to Downstage next week and get a sneak preview of a hot new show! Entry by koha/gold coin donation.
