Artstation’s latest photographic exhibition focuses on the multicultural ‘urbanscape’ of Dominion Road as part of the Auckland Festival of Photography 2011, opening on 1 June.

Dominion Road: The shifting urbanscape is curated by Photowhisper, Jade Min and King Tong Ho.

Photographers Linda Ai, Shunmei Deng, Ivan Liang and King Tong Ho, interpret, through photography, the cultural significance of Dominion Road by capturing the current social activities and businesses that define it.

“This exhibition aims to represent the creative works of New Zealand Chinese photographers, and to support the historical and cultural studies of the local communities“, says curator and photographer King Tong Ho.

Photographer Ivan Liang echoes the current multicultural characteristic of the road through his kaleidoscopic images of Dominion Road.

As part of the festival, the exhibition will feature on ‘The Gravity Festival Circuit’ on opening night Tuesday, 7 June, linking 10 exhibitions across central Auckland.
