The search is on for New Zealand's most promising new fashion designer.The British Council and Deutz are seeking to award an Ambassadorship to a New Zealand designer. The likely recipient will be new to the industry, a student in their final year, a recent graduate or an entrepreneur who has recently launched their own label. We envisage that our most promising designer will be passionate about fashion, they will be able to demonstrate their ability as an originator and innovator of fashion, interpret international trends, produce quality marketable fashion products, operate in a professional manner and demonstrate their potential as a fashion business entrepreneur.
The Deutz Fashion Design Ambassador Award is open to all final year students and recent graduates of a recognised New Zealand Tertiary Fashion Design course and New Zealand designers new to the fashion market (ie recently launched or about to launch their own label)

PRIZE:

-includes a return trip to the UK during 2004 for a design related programme, plus $3000 towards expenses. The winner will also be accepted by 'Blood Bank' and entered on their database. The recipient may, for example choose to attend London Fashion Week in 2004. Three finalists will be selected for an interview prior to confirming the overall winner. The finalists will hosted at L'Oreal NZ Fashion Week for their interview and the Awards ceremony. The finalists collections will also be shown at a special function during L'Oreal NZ Fashion Week.
