More recently, Damo has taken to touring the world with the Damo Suzuki Network, an international community of musicians recruited city-by-city to play an improvised set with him in each country - all performances are recorded and only live performances are released.

The best live band experiences are often brought about by a couple of things called connections, communication and ideas.

Damo Suzuki's perpetual idea of live performance is to connect with local musicians in whichever territory or country he is planning to visit next and arrange a series of performances based on the communication of freeform ideas that are created within the framework of the assembled musicians.

For this tour Damo will be doing two shows in both Auckland and Wellington. One at the Kings Arms and Indigo with a more rock-oriented ensemble and one at the Odeon and Happy with the improv community.

The people who attended NZ's first glimpse of one permutation of the Network back in February will attest to the power of this concept and we bet they'll all be back for more this summer.
