TV One’s Good Morning show presenter Steve Gray, will auction a unique contemporary jewellery collection at TheNewDowse on Monday, 23 November 2009.
This opportunity is facilitated by jewellery students from The Learning Connexion (the Hutt Valleys latest learning institution) . It is an initiative to fund specialty tools for the school’s jewellery department.
View and buy unique pieces of art; meet the artists and enjoy a fun evening.
We have pieces donated by some of Wellington and New Zealand's top jewellers, including Brian Adam, Kate Alterio, Hanne Andersen, Ian Astbury, Alison Blain, Barbara Blewman, Simon Edmonds, Hanne Eriksen Mapp, Aaron Frater, Phillipa Gee, Laurian George, Maureen Kemp, Sophie Lewis-Smith, pounamu and bone carvers Owen Mapp and Craig McIntosh, Neke Moa, Spring Rees and Zita Wespel-Rose.
Further, works are being donated by past and present intermediate and advanced jewellery students from the The Learning Connexion (www.tlc.ac.nz).
Hanne Eriksen Mapp, TLC Jewellery tutor notes, “The quality of work coming from the students at the moment is explorative, imaginative and conceptual. These jewellery students are our renowned artists of the future.”
Doors open at 5:30pm for viewing of the jewellery with music and refreshments. Wine has been kindly donated by Rumbles Wine Merchant. The Auction starts at 6:30pm.
