Creative New Zealand is inviting participation on its review of how to best support and develop New Zealand theatre.
The review will discuss Creative New Zealand’s responsibility for theatre, the key roles they fund through the multi-year investment programme Toi Totara Haemata (Arts Leadership) and how to prioritise other funding programmes, initiatives and special opportunities.
CNZ is seeking views on a number of questions canvassed in a discussion paper.
What has happened so far?
CNZ has collated information about its recent support for theatre.
They also convened a focus group of theatre artists, practitioners and organisations in New Zealand theatre. The focus group was asked for their assessment of how Creative New Zealand can best support New Zealand theatre over the next five years.
How do you contribute to the review?
CNZ are now circulating a discussion paper. In the paper they ask a number of questions. Your answers to these questions, and any other views you have, will contribute to the success of this review.
You can provide your views by:
More details on how to respond are contained in the discussion paper [PDF 614KB]
What is the timeframe?
The deadline for receiving your response is 5pm on Friday 10 July 2015.
Your responses will be collated and reported to the Arts Council. In December 2015 CNZ expect to publish a final report incorporating any recommendations agreed by the Arts Council.
