Entries to the 2007 Creative Places Awards and nominations for the 2007 Outstanding Individual Contribution Award close this Friday 11 May.

The winner of last year's Outstanding Individual Contribution Award, Liz Civil (right), says the annual awards give district and city councils a positive profile. They also provide healthy competition, create pride, encourage excellence and recognise best practice. They also provide healthy competition, create pride, encourage excellence and recognise best practice.The Creative Places Awards are presented every year by Creative New Zealand to celebrate local government's investment in the arts.

As well as the Outstanding Individual Contribution Award, there are eight different category awards and an overall Premier Creative Places Award.
