The Barnaby Weir-led, Wellington collective The Black Seeds nab a #2 start for their fourth studio album, Solid Ground. This continues their chart consistency with Top 3 starts for their three charting albums.
Their sophomore effort, On The Sun, started at #3 in February 2004, then last time out Into The Dojo started off in the pole position in July 2006. In fact, Dojo returns to the 40 at #39 in the wake of the new set, just the third time a local act has done that since 2002. It gives the double-platinum release a 48th week.by Andrew Miller

The band now head off on tour, starting on September 10 in Wanaka.
Rihanna's Third
Rihanna's Good Girl Gone Bad will have been on the Albums list for a full year next week. And to celebrate, the songstress lands a third New Zealand #1 single this week with track Disturbia, off her Reloaded version of the album.
Her debut, Pon De Replay, was first in 2005 while May last year saw Umbrella with Jay Z occupy the summit.

#12 Kings Of Leon - Sex On Fire
Only By Night, the fourth album by the Followill brothers and cousin, is off to a flying start. Lead track Sex On Fire gives Kings Of Leon their third and highest-charting hit right out of the box. Their last album, Because Of The Times, made #1.
#25 Pink - So What?
Pink's currently untitled, fifth studio album, yields its first hit single So What? at #25. It gives Alecia Moore her 18th hit single here since her May 2000 #6 debut There You Go. Three of Pink's hits have gone all the way to #1 - Lady Marmalade (2001), and Don't Let Me Get Me and Get The Party Started (both 2002).
#27 Miley Cyrus - Seven Things
Hannah Montana star Miley Cyrus landed her first hit here three weeks ago. Now, See You Again (#16 this week) is joined by Seven Things, new at #27.
#29 Yung Berg featuring Casha - The Business
It's the second appearance for Yung Berg but the first as lead artist. He joined Brandy's brother Ray J on Top 10er Sexy Can I. Now his own track The Business lands at #29. The 23-year-old known to his parents as Christian Ward is joined by Will Smith's niece Casha on the track.
#32 Puddle Of Mudd - We Don't Have To Look Back Now
LA quartet Puddle Of Mudd last featured here over five years ago with several hits - Blurry (#9) and She Hates Me (#49) from their #10 Come Clean album. We Don't Have To Look Back Now gives them a third hit single. It's lifted from their long player Famous, issued last December.
#37 Britney Spears - Radar
Britney Spears now has her 17th New Zealand hit with Radar - that's as many as Crowded House! The song is from her former #8 Blackout album. In her tally Ms Spears has three chart-toppers and shares the 2003 hit single Me Against The Music with the just-turned-50, pop Queen, Madonna.
#39 MGMT - Electric Feel
Oracular Spectacular yields its first hit and the first for New York duo MGMT as Electric Feel pops in at #39.
#40 Ladyhwake - Paris Is Burning
Expat Kiwi Pip Brown was in the country for a couple of shows this past week. Now dubbed Ladyhawke, she gains a hit single, Paris Is Burning, ahead of the September release of her self-titled debut album.

#12 Dusty Springfield - At Her Very Best
Londoner Mary O'Brien died of cancer nine years back, aged 59. Better known under her stage name Dusty Springfield, she lands her second posthumous album and third in total on the New Zealand Charts with At Her Very Best; new at #12.
#15 Creedence Clearwater Revival - The Best Of
Creedence leader John Fogerty took a combined Fogarty/CCR compile The Long Road Home to #7, reaching platinum sales in 2004. Not that surprising as the Cali boogie band have always been popular here since their late '60s early '70s peak. The Best Of arrives at #15 and follows their previous compiles - 20 Golden Greats (#2 in 1980), 21st Anniversary Edition (#4 in 1990) and Keep On Choogling (#18 in 1995). All have gone platinum or better.
#23 Donavon Frankenreiter - Pass It Around
Recent Snowjammer and Jack Johnson buddy, Donavon Frankenreiter, charts his third album Pass It Around at #23 this week. The 35-year-old surfer's self titled 2004 #3 debut remains his biggest set here thus far.
