The current TV marketing for Cadbury's Dairy Milk chocolate, featuring a drumming gorilla beating the drums to In The Air Tonight, has clearly been a favourite. It drives lapsed Phil Collins to the digital music stores.Repeating the UK experience, where the same ad did exactly the same thing, the track betters its original 1981 #6 peak and lands straight out of nowhere at #3.
Only one other Collins song has gone higher - Easy Lover, a duet with Earth, Wind & Fire drummer, Philip Bailey, which made #2 in 1985.
Phil has been to #3 twice before with movie-related outings - 1984's Against All Odds (from the flick of the same name) and 1988's Groovy Kind Of Love (from Buster, which also starred Collins).
It's just the third time this century that the Genesis drummer has made an appearance on the Singles Chart. Can't Stop Loving You made it to #48 in 2002 and in 2006 Bone Thugs-N-Harmony's Home, which sampled and featured vocals from Take Me Home, charted #6.
Now chocolate and a gorilla suit have given the 57-year-old a fresh lease on hit-ability. Album wise his last charter ...Hits, #5 ten years back, has been re-released to capitalise on the rekindled interest and could be expected to re-enter the chart next week.
A Tiki Double
Good news for Tiki Taane this week as Always On My Mind not only racks up a second week at #1 on the Singles Chart but also makes it a double, moving to the top of the RadioScope100 to grab the airplay crown as well.
As he did on the Singles front last week, he dethrones Chris Brown's Forever.
The Past, Present, Future album meanwhile moves two places to match its #4 peak achieved in the last week of May. The album's now in its 10th straight week inside the Top 10, 34 weeks on from its debut last October. Surely one to watch for this year's NZ Music Awards.
Mamma Mia!
Mamma Mia! the movie and its accompanying soundtrack of ABBA tunes hit New Zealand cinemas and record stores last week. And this week, both continue to show that our 34-year love affair with the Swedish foursome is far from over.
The movie soundtrack enters at #8 straight out of the box, bettering the #31 peak of the stage show soundtrack from 2004.
Expect a further ABBA arrival on the Albums Chart in coming weeks too as a re-released ABBA Gold hits stores. The set was last week certified 15 times platinum that's over 225,000 units! It originally charted over 13 years back in April 1995 and last made the Top 40 during the stage show run in May 2004.
Thus far #3 is as high as it reached, however the Swedes spent three weeks on top in January last year with Number Ones - the fourth chart-topper for Bjorn, Benny, Agnetha and Frida here.

#40 Duffy - Warwick Avenue
It's been a very good debut year for Welsh songstress Duffy - a platinum #1 album with Rockferry (back up to #2 this week), a #4 single and #1 airplay track Mercy, and now to prove she's no one-hit wonder, Warwick Avenue anchors the Singles Chart at #40.
The New Albums
#6 My Chemical Romance - The Black Parade Is Dead
It's a dual new entry for New Jersey's My Chemical Romance as The Black Parade Is Dead becomes the highest new entry on the Albums list at #6, while the DVD edition makes it to #2 on the DVD Chart. It's the third time the quintet has made the Albums Chart, initially doing it with 2004's Three Cheers For Sweet Revenge (their #30 debut), then hitting #1 with The Black Parade in 2006.

#21 Beck - Modern Guilt
It may seem strange to think of Beck as a chart veteran yet he's placed eight albums into our listings since 1994's #23 Mellow Gold. New at #21 David Campbell makes his second highest entry with Modern Guilt. All eight previous efforts have been modest peakers, however the sophomore Odelay reached #16 and went platinum during its 25-week run.
#37 G-Unit - TOS (Terminate On Sight)
Curtis '50 Cent' Jackson, Christopher 'Lloyd' Banks and David 'Young Black' Brown go undercover as a trio and land their second chart album together at #37 with TOS (Terminate On Sight). As a threesome 2003's #26 Beg For Mercy is their previous hit set. They've charted twice on the Singles front, both in 2004 (#13 Stunt 101 and #26 Wanna Get To Know You).
