#17 Fat Freddy's Drop - Pull The Catch
The Fat Freddy's crew drop their new album in the next few weeks. This week it yields a second Top 20 single prior to its street date. In July The Camel landed at #14 for a week, and now Pull The Catch makes it two from two, taking highest new entry honours at #17 this week. Based On A True Story made #1 out of the box in May 2005. It's rated by some as one of the best albums of 2008 and Kings Of Leon's Only By The Night is the band's biggest seller here. The former #1 set holds at #3 and has already given brothers Caleb, Jared and Nathan Followill and cousin Matthew Followill a #2 smash with Sex On Fire. Now a second single from it gives the band a fourth hit here in Use Somebody, new at #29.
#35 Pink - Sober
As Funhouse enjoys a second week atop the Albums Chart, single number two Sober follows lead track So What into the Top40 at #35 for Pink. The song is a Top10 hit across the ditch and fresh at #35 here. Alecia Moore's chart hit tally is now 19.
Lady Gaga's Poker Face
Lady Gaga (aka Stefania Gabriella Germanotta) sees Poker Face at the summit of the New Zealand Singles Chart this week, leaping seven places to capture the top spot
It's the second track from her debut album The Fame and betters the #3 peak of her break-through Just Dance which recently reached gold status.
The Fame meanwhile is the ninth best-selling album of the week for the 22-year-old New Yorker.
More High School Music
The High School Musical franchise has been a winner for Disney. From small made-for-TV beginnings, the third installment in the series High School Musical 3: Senior Year is the first made for the big screen. The Australasian premiere has just been held in Sydney and the movie is due to open here on December 4.
Zac Efron, Vanessa Hudgens, Ashley Tisdale, Lucas Grabeel and Corbin Bleu all reprise their roles and can be heard on this week's highest new entry on the Albums Chart (at #4).
It follows the #1 High School Musical (2006) and #3 High School Musical 2 (2007) into our Top 5. And yes, there's already a fourth installment in the works, due next year.

#10 Celine Dion - My Love: Ultimate Essential
There's life after a lengthy Las Vegas cabaret residency for French-Canadian chanteuse Celine Dion. The 40-year-old Quebec native's self-titled 1992 chart debut made a modest #31 with a solitary week on the chart. Sixteen years on and Celine's 14th charting LP, My Love: Ultimate Essential, opens at #10. Along the way Falling Into You (1996), Let's Talk About Love (1997) and A New Day Has Come (2002) all topped the chart. Oh and there've been 17 hit singles (but no #1s!) here.
#31 Ryan Adams - Cardinology
Yet to land a hit single, alt-country singer-songwriter David Ryan Adams extends his run of mid-charting albums to an even half dozen with Cardinology new at #31. The title of the Electric Ladyland-recorded set alludes to "the study of guitar astrology and jam technology."
#34 Andrea Bocelli - Incanto
In the same year Madonna, Jacko and Paul Weller celebrate half a century, blind Italian tenor Andrea Bocelli also turns 50. As part of the celebrations, Incanto, an album of Italian love songs, gives the opera star his 13th appearance here. It's exactly a year since his last Vivere: The Best Of Andrea Bocelli made #4. 2001's #2 Tuscan Skies is the highest-placed in Andrea's 11-year New Zealand chart career.
#37 Katie Melua - The Katie Melua Collection
Twenty-four-year-old Georgia Republic-born, UK-raised Katie Melua's fourth chart-set is her first hits compile. New at #37 The Katie Melua Collection contains tracks from her first three albums and some other cuts. Her 2004 platinum #4 debut Call Off The Search remains her biggest release here to date.
