Burnett was a Film Festival guest last year with the restored version of his 1977 debut, Killer of Sheep.Made while he was a grad student at UCLA, this cine-verite look at life in South Central Los Angeles has been described as one of the most famous unseen films ever made.

Killer of Sheep will screen in the retrospective, along with three other features and a programme of shorts by Burnett, hailed by US critic Jonathan Rosenbaum as "the most gifted and important black filmmaker this country has ever had".
