A rare interview with the great New Zealand landscape painter Douglas Badcock. Now 82, and having survived avalanches, Queenstown's developers, and art critics, he says, "I need to know everything there is to know about colour."
Along Highway 8 between Cromwell and Alexandra, it is grey and cold and although it is already 11 in the morning, some of the passing cars have their park lights on.
