2005 is Black Grace's 10th Anniversary, and the company celebrates this milestone by presenting '10', a kaleidoscope of excerpts and sequences from memorable Black Grace and Urban YOUTHMovement seasons - all specially re-choreographed for this anniversary season.

'10 is all my favourite bits and pieces from the last ten years, remounted and remixed in an hour full of passion, joy and laughter. 10 is a show that allows us to thank our loyal audiences and supporters in true Black Grace style', says Artistic Director and CEO Neil Ieremia.

Ieremia says, '10 is a great acknowledgment of our history and is an opportunity for all of us to celebrate who we are today, where we have come from and, perhaps more importantly, where we are going.'

Black Grace is New Zealand's pre-eminent professional contemporary dance company and boasts some of the finest dancers the country has to offer.
Artistic Director Neil Ieremia is one of New Zealand's most accomplished choreographers and under his direction Black Grace offers the ultimate live dance experience - an explosive mix of rhythm, spirit and energy- fusing Pacific and contemporary dance forms to produce a style of dance, which is unique, both within New Zealand and internationally.

The company has built a loyal local and national following and is beginning the international marketing of its work. Black Grace is on a mission: to take their distinctive brand of Pacific contemporary dance to the world. In August 2004, Black Grace performed its acclaimed US debut at the prestigious Jacobs Pillow Dance Festival, in Massachusetts, USA.

Black Grace recently performed (June 2005) at the World Expo in Aichi, Japan and in August this year the Company returns to the Jacobs Pillow Dance Festival to perform on the main stage - Ted Shawn Theatre. Then, from September 16, they perform their debut four-week season on Broadway at the New Victory Theatre, 42nd Street (New York City) - a high profile and ambitious engagement and the pinnacle of Black Grace's overseas achievements to date. Also, this year Black Grace will perform at the prestigious Cervantino Festival in Mexico City in October.

Gala performance The '10' season opens with a Gala performance on Friday 22 July, with Dawson's Cocktail and Lounge Bar serving a selection of drinks and Theatre
Platters from internationally inspired tastes, before and after the Gala performance - Dawson's Cocktail and Lounge Bar will also be available throughout the season.
