The highly acclaimed contemporary New Zealand dance company Black Grace has been invited to make their American premiere at the prestigious Jacob's Pillow festival in Massachusetts this August.
The highly acclaimed contemporary New Zealand dance company Black Grace has been invited to make their American premiere at the prestigious Jacob's Pillow festival in Massachusetts this August.
During Black Grace's performances at the Holland Dance Festival, in October last year, several important contemporary dance presenters viewed our work in Den Haag. This was a huge opportunity for the company and, as a result, Black Grace has been invited to perform at the prestigious Jacob's Pillow Festival in Boston, Massachusetts, USA, from 12 - 14 August.

Predominantly Pacific Island and Maori, this all-male dance company is renowned for their unique combination of traditional and contemporary dance and music. Since 1995 their work has attracted sell-out seasons and critical acclaim throughout New Zealand and in Sydney.

Jacob's Pillow is an internationally celebrated centre for dance that presents some of the best dance companies in the world at its annual Festival; supports the creation of new work through commissions and residencies; engages the public through free performances, exhibits, lectures and talks with artists and scholars; educates professional dancers at its school under the guidance of an international faculty; trains interns in arts administration and technical theatre; and preserves dance legacies through documentation and an extensive historical Archive.

The importance of the Jacob's Pillow season cannot be over-stated. The festival is extreme in their anticipation of Black Grace.
