Rattling Tongues Crunch Defying Theatre (yes, that’s the full name!) is about just that: blatant defiance of doom and gloom.  The whole idea is to add to the cultural capital … of the cultural capital … at the very moment when we are told ‘the crunch’ is upon us and that we should be scared … very scared.  It’s about, well, caring and sharing: caring about the uniqueness of live theatre and sharing it with the wider community. And, for Brophy and Macaulay, it’s also about helping develop what they call the next-generation live theatre audience: about introducing new audiences to live theatre, in new places -- in a sense, taking it to where those audiences live.

Rattling Tongues has teamed up with the iconic Southern Cross Hotel for this one -- no surprise really when you look at how The Cross works within the Wellington community. So it’s a show and a bite to eat in an iconic Wellington pub, all in the one package and for a crunch defying ticket price.  And it’s at 1pm sharp weekdays. Surprise!

Rattling Tongues, as well as assembling the ongoing program of work from other professionals and companies, has taken on the responsibility of staging the first piece, Christie in Love.  Each play will run for a two-week season with very limited seating (40 tops -- and some of those are in standing room only)

ONE SHARP Lunch Theatre at The Souther Cross Hotel opens 20th July (at 1pm sharp!) with Christie In Love directed by Adam Macaulay and featuring Jed brophy, Nick Blake and Paul Harrop.
