This mini-film festival - Native Revolutions Aotearoa 2007 - accompanies the gallery's latest exhibition, Te Huringa/Turning Points: Pakeha Colonisation & Maori Empowerment.The festival's programme features nine films from New Zealand, Canada and USA, including Hawaikii (NZ, 2006) and Drumbeat for Mother Earth (USA, 2000).

Organiser Challen Wilson, affiliated to Ngati Marutuaahu, Ngati Kuia, Ngati Koata, Ngati Raukawa and Kai Tahu, is a mother, producer, playwright and community organiser. She is a core member of Conscious Collaborations, a collective that works to establish alliance between indigenous communities. The group recognises that there is a common understanding between indigenous communities worldwide, in particular a shared experience of resistance to colonisation.

Te Huringa/Turning Points: Pakeha Colonisation & Maori Empowerment runs until 4 November.
