It is income from these investments that funds our grants. The significant global events that financial markets have experienced over the past few months have had a significant impact on the ASB Community Trust's investments. It is income from these investments that funds our grants.Because of the impact this has had, the Trust must ensure that any decisions made at this time are prudent and align with our long term vision.

The Trust is not yet in a position to confirm its funding programme budget for the 2009/10 financial year, but we expect it will be much tighter than what was budgeted for in the 2008/09 financial year.

The Trust intends to confirm the funding programme budget in mid-2009, allowing more time for investment markets to recover before the budget is set. We will hold one funding round per sector in the second half of the year.

Closing dates remain

Both closing dates will remain open for all funding sectors (except Community Facilities and Capital Projects). We encourage you to talk to members of our grants team if you have any queries.

We still want you to send us your application when it is ready, rather than wait until the second closing date. This will allow time to review your application and then (if required) engage with you about your project and provide you with any updated information. All applications will be acknowledged in writing and applicants will be told when to expect a grant decision.

Our focus

Given the current financial situation the Trust will need to prioritise its funding, so we encourage you to read our funding strategies carefully and ensure that your request does align with them.

If there is any doubt, please contact our grants team. They are more than happy to take any query.
