Professional Development Workshops presented by Arts Access Aotearoa
Arts Access Aotearoa will present three professional development workshops in central Whangarei on 7th and 8th August, aimed at community arts organisations and individuals in this sector.
The workshops are free to staff and volunteers working in community arts organisations that are registered not for profits. The wider arts sector is welcome to attend these workshops but there will be a small cost of $15 per participant, payable in cash on the day.
The topics are:
• Copyright law and its application to community arts:
2-5pm, Friday 7 August
Facilitated by David McLaughlin is the Principal of McLaughlin Law, a law firm specialising in legal issues as they relate to the creative industries, such as visual art, music, literature and film and TV.
• Using the web to develop your community and market the arts:
9-5pm, Saturday 8 August
Facilitated by Vicki Allpress-Hill, arts e-marketing specialist and Manager Online Marketing, Web and CRM for THE EDGE® in Auckland
-Session 1, 9.30-12.30pm: on social networking sites, such as Facebook and Twitter, and practical strategies to use them will be covered.
-Session 2, 2-5pm: web marketing 101 - improving the use of your website and email to effectively promote your organisation.
