The New Year of 2007 will herald SYNONYMYX, an exciting contemporary art exhibition showcasing diversity and synergism in a display of new 2D and 3D works by the Artists Anonymous group and invited guests.The New Year of 2007 will herald SYNONYMYX, an exciting contemporary art exhibition showcasing diversity and synergism in a display of new 2D and 3D works by the Artists Anonymous group and invited guests.The exhibition will take over the entire space of Creative Hastings, Russell St, Hastings from January 2nd to January 20th 2007.

Works in the show are for sale and will include bronze sculptures, creamic art, drawings/paintings, glass art, wood carving, prints/photography and mixed media pieces. The official opening on Friday 5th January at 6pm will include local singer/songwriter Daniel Munro, local wine and an invited guest speaker.

This is an important event on the Artists Anonymous calendar as it is dedicated to showcasing local emerging artists and it provides a positive point of difference to the local Hawkes Bay cultural scene. Artists Anonymous Charitable Society (inc) is a members based local organisation based at Waiohiki Creative Arts Village(WCAV) on State Highway 50 south of Taradale.The Group is comprised of Graduates from EIT Visual Arts and Design, The Learning Connexion Diploma in Arts and Creativity (HONS) Wellington and other self taught artists and artisans.

Artists Anonymous is one of many groups and individuals comprising the Waiohiki Creative Arts Village. The complex also currently houses The Taradale Pottery Group, HB Woodturners Guild, John Gisborne (sculptor) artist in residence Helen Mason (potter) and Pa Whakairo wood carvers who have recently opened a gallery onsite showcasing their artwqorks plus paintings from Artists Anonymous and other artisans associated with the village.
