The line-up of talent has been announced for the third Urbis 24-Hour Deadline Theatre, including playwrights James Griffin and Kate McDermott, directors Sam Scott and Caroline Bell Booth and actors Oliver Driver, Miriama Smith and Carl Bland.

They'll have 24 hours to write and rehearse a brand new 10-minute play - and then perform it in front of an audience at The Herald Theatre on 8 July.In this inspired theatrical event, eight of Auckland's leading playwrights receive a mystery prop and an envelope containing photos of three top Auckland actors.

In the space of 12 hours, each playwright must then write a brand new 10-minute play, with 12 hours to rehearse it.

At the end of 24 hours, the lights go up to reveal eight of the hottest, freshest new plays seen this year.
