The search for the best and brightest Year 12 and 13 poets is on again – the National Schools Poetry Award is back!
Ten talented poets will win cash and prizes for their poems, plus the chance to attend a masterclass with leading New Zealand poets at the International Institute of Modern Letters on 20 August. The winner and shortlisted poets will be announced on National Poetry Day, 22 July.
The entry deadline is June 15. Judge for the 2011 Award is New Zealand Poet Laureate and recipient of the Prime Minister's Award for Literary Achievement, Cilla McQueen.
