While most New Zealand comedians are busy performing in the 2007 NZ International Comedy Festival, award-winning UK-based Kiwi comic Sully O'Sullivan is doing something different. He's in training, and you know he's serious because he's even put down his beer. On 30 June, he will join 13 other comedians from around the world to climb the UK's three highest peaks in less than 24 hours, all in the name of charity.Why would a bunch of out-of-shape, beer swilling, takeaway eating, substance abusing misfits attempt such a stupid thing? To raise money for Act4Africa, a Christian charity dedicated to delivering HIV and AIDS Education Programmes in an effort to arrest the AIDS pandemic threatening a continent.

The only entrant from the southern hemisphere, O'Sullivan has publicly declared that he intends to leave all other acts in his wake, only returning for their sorry arses when, stranded on a mountain, they turn to cannibalism. He will eat the Canadians first - there's a rumour they taste like moose.

He maintains that "the UK doesn't have any mountains anyway, only large hills".

The Brits say: "The 3 Peaks Challenge is a gruelling marathon up and over Ben Nevis in Scotland, Scafell Pike in England and Snowdon in Wales. The objective is to complete the challenge in under 24 hours including travelling time. That's around 11,300 feet of ascent, 1.5 marathons of hiking, and over 1000 miles of driving."

Sully says "Brits are soft".
